The Mondial des Vins Extrmes tasting will take place in the town of Sarre, in the Valle d'Aosta region of Italy, from August 27-29.

There will be 785 wines from extreme terroir vineyards around the world, 425 from Italy and 360 from 18 different countries, with wines from China and the United States making their debut at the competition.
The World Extreme Terroir Wine Competition is the only international competition dedicated solely to extreme terroir wines from vineyards that meet any of the following criteria: 500 meters above sea level; slope greater than 30 degrees; located on a terrace or river bank; and located on a small island.
In addition to the Grand Gold, Gold and Silver awards, which are based on the tasting scores of the wines, there are also awards for Best Organic, Best Original and Best Dry Wine.
