Wine a key feature of 2018 Australian food festival

Autumn in South Australia is the perfect time to indulge in some great food and wine. Autumn's high, sunny days, a wealth of seasonal specialties and vineyards covered in red and gold leaves are all worth experiencing, but most importantly the Tasting Australia festival, which this year runs from April 13-22. Learn to cook from celebrity chefs, enjoy the perfect food and wine pairing at a winery lunch, browse the farmer's market and listen to people talk about food, or feast your senses on the banks of the Adelaide River.

Wine is one of the stars of the Australian Food Festival event. Wine lovers can sample top wines that have been exhibited at the Royal Adelaide Show, test their tasting skills or explore biodynamic winemaking. There will also be a wine auction, beer appreciation dinner, cocktail mixing classes and a champagne masterclass.

The food festival allows you to taste the world"s cuisine in a few days. Or enjoy a feast of Spanish cuisine, or take a step back in time at a 19th century night club. Or sample organic pizza or enjoy an eight-course feast at one of Adelaide's most famous restaurants.

Throughout the festival, a wide range of fresh South Australian produce will be on display at various parades and farmer's markets. You can buy at the huge Adelaide Showgrounds Farmers' Market or directly from producers, growers, bakers and cheesemakers at markets from the Barossa Valley to Riverland. You can also buy handmade crafts at the Adelaide Festival Centre and watch Adelaide's trendy Randall Street transform into an open-air market selling delicious local produce, local wines and signature dishes from famous restaurants.
