Welsh Wine Week is organised by the Welsh Government funded Welsh Drinks Cluster.

The online wine event will run from 27 July to 2 August and will feature online events and competitions run by over 30 vineyards in the country. The aim of the event is to encourage greater knowledge and understanding of the Welsh wine industry and ultimately to drive increased wine sales.

This activity is supported by the famous baritone singer Sir Bryn Terfel and others. He reveals in a short video that he has a personal relationship with a winery, having studied at the school with Richard and Iola Huws, owners of Pant Du Vineyards.

Sir Bryn Terfel says: I"ve been lucky enough to travel around the world and while doing so I've had the opportunity to taste some of the best wines and Welsh wines are starting to creep into vogue. So if you haven't tasted one yet, do so during the Welsh Wine Week event.

Terfel, who was born in Pant Glas, Gwyneth, has recorded a short promotional video in Welsh. He also made another video with comedian star Rob Brydon.
