Specifically, from January 1 to December 31, 2019, the Appellation Valdepeñez exported 324,144 liters of bottled wine to the U.S. The U.S. ranks 14th in sales among the countries that export wine from the Appellation Valdepeñez. however, according to this year"s data, 352,519 liters of bottled wine have been exported to the U.S. from January to August 2020 alone, and the U.S. currently ranked 10th among the appellation's exporting countries.
Moreno noted that if the U.S. were to eliminate the additional tariffs on Spanish agricultural products, we would get better numbers, as the elimination of tariff barriers would allow Valdepérez wines to achieve greater gains in volume and value.
