Liquor seller Drizly saw a 133 percent rise in sales in Washington compared to a typical Tuesday. On-demand delivery company GoPuff and alcohol sales platform Minibar also reported the same trend.
Sparkling wine was the best selling wine on election day and on the night of the vote count. Whiskey was also a big hit. Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir among red wines topped the GoPuff sales list.
According to Drizly, liquor sales increased more in Democratic candidate majority states than in Republican majority states.
