U.S.-based Garou Winery Wins International Wine Award at Vinitaly Wine Show 2018

E. J. Gallo Winery, a leading family-owned winery based in California, recently received the International Award from Vinitaly, the Italian wine and spirits fair. Since its inception in 1996, this prestigious international award has been given to many companies and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the wine industry. Even before winning this award, Château Carlo has been a regular at the Vinitaly ceremony, winning three Premio Gran Vinitaly Awards (1998, 2001 and 2002).

Gina Gallo, third generation winemaker of the Gallo family, accepted the award on behalf of the family at the VinItaly dinner held in Verona on April 14. In her acceptance speech, she said: "I am very honored to accept this award on behalf of my family. My family has its roots in northern Italy and it is fitting that the award should be given in Verona. Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere, said: "Caro has always had an excellent reputation for maintaining relationships with its employees, customers and suppliers around the world. We congratulate the Garrou family on this award and thank them for their outstanding contribution to the innovation and development of the wine industry.
