Lynch says: I first developed a passion for wine early in my career when I was living in France and playing professional basketball.

From the very beginning, I have viewed Chateau Opus One as a premier luxury wine. I am honored to have been selected as the next CEO of this iconic wine brand and look forward to working with the team at Opus One Winery to continue to build on the legacy and vision of its co-founders, Baron Philippe and Robert Mondavi.

Château Opus 1 was created in 1979 by Baron Philippe and Robert Mondavi. The American Constellation Group acquired Château Mondavi in 2004 and established a 50/50 partnership with the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Group

Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Chairman and CEO of Baron Philippe de Rothschild Group and member of the Board of Directors of Château de l'Opus 1, added: "I sincerely believe that true quality wine is one of the last privileges of our time. From the very beginning, Château Opus 1 has been built on the values of building a reputation and success for world class wines.

I have every confidence that with Christopher Lynch's experience, expertise and extensive knowledge of the boutique wine world, he will uphold these values and continue to drive the success of Opus One Winery for years to come.
