The changes in this final regulation address wine and distilled spirits containers (e.g., bottling) and add seven new standards for wine and distilled spirits bottling.
The TTB has also amended the labeling regulations for distilled spirits and malt beverages to implement current U.S. policy requirements, which provide that distilled spirits labels may indicate compliance with U.S. equivalency standards, mandatory metric standards, and malt beverage labels may indicate compliance with equivalency standards, mandatory U.S. standards. The malt beverage label can be labeled to meet the equivalent metric standards, mandatory U.S. standards.
