The U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau has issued a warning about wine advertising.

In a recent statement, it said, "We have seen an increase in alcoholic beverage advertising, including on company websites and social media accounts, that portrays health-related statements suggesting a link between the consumption of alcoholic beverages and their claimed health benefits or effects."
These wines are often positioned as a healthier alternative to other wines. In the face of such phenomena TTB prohibits any health-related statements that are untrue in any way or tend to create a misleading impression regarding the health effects of consumption.
