Nick Hall, founder of UK wine merchant Herbert, said: "The UK wine industry is growing more and more, and with the emergence of many UK wineries in recent years, it has become increasingly important to produce good quality wines. This is what has forced us to become more competitive and produce quality wines.
He added: "We don't want to be big, but we want to be better, we just want to be able to better meet the needs of our loyal customers, while focusing on producing unique sparkling wines.
British wine merchant Herbert has been in business for only eight years. However, over the years, the winery's sparkling wines have received high marks from critics and are currently distributed in a number of restaurants and retailers, including Rhapsody Restaurant, The Ivy and 67 Pall Mall Bar.
British wine merchant Herbert's en primeur production model will begin with the 2015 vintage, which will also be released in September this year.
