Two Alicante aged sweet wines win best wine titles

Sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Spanish Gourmet Wine Competition is open only to those wines that participated in the God of Wine International Wine Competition in March, organized by the Spanish Sommelier Union (UEC), and received the best scores.

And this year, two aged sweet wines from Alicante shared the title of best wine: Brotons Gran Fondillon Reserva 1964 and Fondilln 50 Aos.

Brotons Gran Fondillon Reserva 1964 is a hand-crafted wine, matured in centuries-old Spanish oak barrels. And Fondilln 50 Aos is made with 100% single-variety old-vine Muscat, matured in centuries-old oak barrels made by the Wild American Wild Project. They are both very important aged sweet wines in Spain and in the world.
