Trump announces 25% tariffs on French products not including wine

The Trump administration announced Friday that it plans to impose a 25 percent tariff on about $1.3 billion worth of French products in response to a French digital services tax affecting major U.S. technology companies.

These tariffs will take effect on January 6, 2021.

According to a notice issued by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), products to be subject to the tariffs include cosmetics, soap and handbags, and there is no wine and cheese on the Trump administration"s proposed list.
