The partnership agreement covers the UK and Channel Islands and all channels of trade, although Berry Bros Rudd, parent company of former Berger Sicilia agent Fields, Morris Verdin, will continue to import wines for sale to private customers.

The latest releases from Bega Cecilia include the 2011 Unico and the 2016 Valbuena 5, which will be officially released to the public next month.

Antonio Menndez, Managing Director of Berkmann Cecilia, said: "The UK is a key strategic market for Berkmann Cecilia. We believe that Berkmann Wine Cellars, the UK wine merchant, will take our wines to a new level of distribution both on and off site. Château Bega Cecilia's priority is to ensure that our wines reach all UK customers correctly, and British wine merchant Berkmann Wine Cellars offers us the possibility to do so.

Located on the banks of the Duero River, Bega Cecilia is considered one of Spain's leading boutique wineries and its wines, particularly the Unico range, are highly regarded by collectors. Château Bega Cecilia was also the best performing Spanish winery on last year's Top 100 list and climbed to a new high ranking of #12, thanks to the continued growth of diversity in the secondary boutique wine segment.
