With a history of almost 200 years, Barbadillo is one of the largest and oldest family businesses in Spain. Originally, the winery produced Sherry (Jerez), Sherry brandy (Brandy de Jerez) and native Cádiz wines.

Over time, in addition to developing new projects in the D.O. Jerez y Manzanilla de Sanlcar appellation, they also established the Vega Real Winery and Pirineos Winery.
This year, Barbadillo"s two wineries in Ribera del Duero and Somontana not only scored well in the Penin Guide 2021 Yearbook, but also won several awards in major world-class wine competitions.
Vaccayos 2015, a red wine from Vega Real, won gold medals at the 2020 Brussels International Wine Competition and 2020 Berlin International Wine Grand Prix, and silver medals at the 2020 International Wine and Spirits Competition, respectively. Made from Tempranillo grown at 800-920 meters above sea level and matured in French oak barrels for 24 months, this wine is full-bodied and sweetly tannic.
The 2019 vintage of 3404 red wine from Château Pirineos, which won a gold medal at the 2020 Mundus Vini competition, has established itself as an authority in the Aragn region. 3404 represents the height of the highest mountain in the Pyrenees and refers to the expectations and aspirations of the winery in making this wine.
There are two other white wines from the Pirineos winery: one is Pirineos Gewrztraminer 2019, which won a gold medal at the 2020 Berlin International Wine Awards; the other is Chardonnay Pirineos 2019, a single-varietal wine that the winery launched only this year, and which has taken only a short time to be recognized by the Pernin Guide recognition.
