And the wine industry reacted with surprise and anger, because the aid program promulgated by the Spanish government in the Official State Gazette did not include wineries in its scope.

The recession in the hotel, restaurant and tourism sectors has taken a very heavy toll on our businesses, with the majority of wineries suffering losses of more than 30 percent," said igo Torres, manager of the Rioja Wine Exporters Organization (Grupo Rioja).

Jose Luis Benitez, director general of the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV), said that we have written to four ministries to express clearly that the wine industry's exclusion from the aid program is clearly a mistake.
