The Spanish National Guard and the Wine Regulatory Commission have decided to jointly combat the fraudulent practices that have emerged in the industry.

Recently, in Madrid, Maria Gmez, Director General of the National Guard, and David Palacios, President of the Spanish Wine Regulatory Commission (CECRV), signed an agreement on actions to prevent and combat fraud in order to protect winegrowers, wineries and consumers. The agreement has now been ratified in the D.O. Calatayud, D.O. Campo de Borja and D.O. Cariena appellations in the Zaragoza region (Zaragoza).
By signing this agreement, all agree to develop coordinated actions related to cooperation to identify and study problems related to food fraud, while also exchanging information of a technical or business-related nature that will improve, guide prevention efforts and increase the efficiency of the fight against illegal activities related to food fraud.
