Spain's Ourense province launches virtual reality to sell wine

Virtual reality has become a powerful tool for the internationalization of the wine industry in Ourense.

Twenty wineries from the D.O. Ribeiro and D.O. Valdeorras appellations actively participated in the ExportOU 360 platform, promoted jointly by the Ourense Business Federation (CEO) and the Ourense Provincial Council (Diputacin de Ourense).

The 360-degree technology can be immersive with the help of virtual reality glasses, a platform that aims to cover the entire Ourense agri-food industry. The virtual reality will allow consumers to enter the two regions and learn about their terroir and vineyards, as well as the various stages of the wine production process. It will help potential buyers or visitors to virtually visit the 20 participating wineries through their mobile devices.
