Several Italian wine conservancies have decided to reduce wine stock production

In order to strengthen the protection of appellation brands, the Consorzio di tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani (Consortium for the Protection of Barolo, Barbaresco, Alba, Langhe and Dogliani Wines) recently made the decision to reduce the stock requirement from 20% to 5% of production per hectare, with the remaining 15% to be compulsory for other uses, such as distillation.

This will consume the excess inventory caused by the epidemic and will also help improve their product quality potential, in line with the market"s perception of their production philosophy.

Our goal is to strengthen and promote the overall brand of our appellation through targeted strategies," said Matteo Ascheri, President of the Association of Appellations. We will continue our interventions in the coming months, if necessary.
