On July 17, a winemaker in the Gonfaron appellation of Provence filed a civil lawsuit claiming that he was attacked twice with rifles the night before while spraying Bordeaux blend (a copper sulfate solution used to kill insects) on his grapes, according to Vitisphere.

The wine farmer was sitting on his tractor when the gun went off and did not react to the two consecutive shots until he returned to the shed to clean his utensils and realized that it was the bullet that pierced the sprayer.
According to police research, the bullets were fired from a house about 30 meters from the vineyard, and the wine farmer"s neighbors have admitted to the shooting.
