But winemakers from Marqus de Vargas, Conde de San Cristbal and Pazo de San Mauro wineries believe that this weather will have a positive impact on the wine harvest.
The experts of these wineries explained that the rainfall in the vineyards will favor the good growth of the grapes. They will promote the irrigation of the soil (since water penetrates more easily into the ground) and will help the plants to maintain good hygiene. In addition, the heavy snowfall will increase the water reserves in the vineyards, providing nutrients to the soil and promoting rest for the plants to avoid premature germination, which will help them to get rid of possible pests and diseases and have a healing effect on them.
