Multinational wine organizations ask US and Europe to end tariff dispute and stop imposing duties on wine

After the WTO intervened and granted the European Union permission to impose $4 billion in tariffs on U.S. goods, 18 liquor industry organizations from multiple countries joined a petition asking the U.S. Trade Representative's Office and the European Trade Commission to end the tariff dispute between the two regions and stop imposing tariffs on wine, spirits and beer.

In their letter, they wrote that the aggravation of alcohol tariffs, whether from the U.S. or the EU, has damaged only the already bruised and battered wine industry as a whole. The wine industry and related services have suffered incalculable economic damage as restaurants, bars and wineries have closed one after another due to the New Crown epidemic.
