The Madrid Appellation, composed of four sub-appellations: Arganda, El Molar, Navalcarnero and San Martn de Valdeiglesias, was adopted to give visitors a more comprehensive view of the culture of gastronomy, wineries and viticulture beyond the functions of the capital.
The Madrid Wine Route includes 12 municipal districts: Aldea del Fresno, Brunete, Colmenar de Oreja, Morata de Tajua, Navalcarnero, Nuevo Baztn, San Martn de Valdeiglesias, Tielmes, Valdelaguna, Valdilecha, Villa del Prado y Villarejo de Salvans.
The number of Spanish wine routes continues to grow, and the country now has 32 wine tourism routes.
