According to the Italian Farmers Association (Coldiretti), the 2020 grape harvest season will generate at least 25,000 temporary jobs in Italy's vineyards and wineries.

The Association also calls on the Italian government to take measures to simplify the procedures and help students and unemployed people who have no income to enter the vineyards to work faster.
In previous years, a large number of technicians for the vineyard harvest season came from Eastern European countries such as Romania. This year, the international traffic blockade caused by the epidemic prevented these foreign workers from traveling to Italy during the harvest season, leaving a large number of vacant vineyard technician positions.
