The famous appellations, including Friuli, Piedmont, Tuscany and Abruzzo, are all giving good news: the fruit is in excellent condition and the 2020 vintage will be a very good one.
The German Wine Institute also said that the 2020 vintage was an excellent vintage for Germany, with excellent fruit quality and a total production of around 860 million liters, slightly less than previous years.
Its report noted that the late summer weather was sunny and dry, producing ripe and healthy final fruit. The red varieties are deep and intense in color with great potential, while the white grapes have begun barrel aging and are also showing intense aromas.
