After an international degree in political science, a diplomatic career and a master"s degree in international organizations, as well as work experience at the Italian Embassy in Namibia, Pontini entered the food and wine industry, holding various positions at wineries in the Schoenstatt region, successively at the Consorzio delMorellino in Tuscany and at the Consorzio del Brunello. Consorzio del Brunello.

We are looking for a person who is in perfect harmony with the world of wine and who also has an international profile, who can adequately meet the challenges that our association must face, said Romano Dogliotti, president of the association, and Giacomo Pontini has these qualities for academic, professional and personnel training. I am confident that, through our joint efforts, we can provide the Association with the guidance it deserves.

The Consorzio del vino Brunello di Montalcino has also made a change in personnel with Michele Fontana as its new manager. After working for the Consorzio del Chianti Classico and as administrative director of Castello di Meleto, Fontana will take over from Giacomo Pontini, who will be heading north to Asti from July 2020.

Welcoming the new manager, we are sure to initiate a constructive collaboration in a time of uncertainty for the entire sector, stressed Fabrizio Bindocci, President of the Association, saying that challenging times and a positive outlook for Montalcino and its Conservancy surely await us. On behalf of all the directors and companies of the Association, I would like to thank Giacomo Pontini for the activities carried out so far, for his tireless efforts and for the results achieved under his leadership.
