The Washington-based wine company has named Stuart McNab, formerly chief supply officer at Fortune Wines, to the newly created position, where he will be responsible for all winemaking, vineyard and business functions and will report directly to CEO David Dearie.
Dearie previously served as CEO of Fortune Wines from 2011 to 2013, but only joined St. Michaels last October. He said he was delighted to find someone with the skills and experience of McNab to join the leadership team.
He added: "I have worked with Stuart and his extensive experience in leading the wine business will help to deliver our long-term sustainable growth program.
McNab said he is excited to join a company with a long history and a reputation for producing quality wines in a variety of appellations.
He also said:I am particularly looking forward to joining the wine industry in Washington and Oregon, as I believe there is still great potential for both regions and to reconnect with the California wine industry.
