The new electric tractor has zero noise and pollution emissions, while its light weight reduces damage to the soil structure. Once in use, it will be used for shallow plowing and harvesting between vines.
The electric tractor is still in the testing phase, but the innovative technology will play an important role in the wine industry.
Familia Torres winery is involved in various research projects where they use sensors to carry out tests, trying to optimize and protect the plants while working mechanically. Spain, as the country with the largest area of organic vineyards in the world, has been trying to control CO2 emissions between vineyards, and reducing carbon emissions is the only way to stop climate change.
