EU agrees to raise alcohol threshold to lower excise duty

Last month, EU member states provisionally agreed to update alcohol excise rules within the EU, agreeing to raise the alcohol threshold to lower excise taxes in an effort to encourage people to drink light beer instead, The Drink Business reported.
