Descendant of French Dassault family dies in plane crash; his family owned several Saint-Emilion wineries

Olivier Dassault, a French billionaire, politician and scion of the Dassault aircraft manufacturing family, was killed in a helicopter crash March 7 at the age of 69.

French President Emmanuel Macron led the tributes. He tweeted that Olivier Dassault loved France. The industrial leader, local councillor and reserve commander of the air force never stopped serving his country during his life. The Dassault family is known to be one of the most influential families in France, with businesses in aviation, defense, auction houses, wine and media. Best known in the wine sector are the Dassault family"s Grand Cru in Saint-Emilion, Château La Fleur, and others.

The heir to France's number one aircraft manufacturing family died in a plane crash with the feeling of a good swimmer drowning in water.
