Coca-Cola Co. hopes to release its first alcoholic sparkling water (hard seltzer) product in the U.S. in the first half of 2021 to capture the fast-growing consumer trend, the company's chief executive said in an interview with CNBC on Monday, according to CNBC.

Sparkling water and alcoholic sparkling water are both fast-growing categories in the beverage industry. According to IWSR, sales of alcoholic sparkling water have more than tripled amid an overall global trend of declining alcohol consumption. UBS forecasts the market for alcoholic sparkling water to reach $2.5 billion by 2021.
