Philippe Faure-Brac, President of the French Sommelier Association (UDSF) and one of the best sommeliers in the world, and Ronan Laborde, President of the Bordeaux Grand Cru Federation, are proud to announce their partnership with the ASI World's Best Sommeliers Competition on November 23, 2020.

As the lead partner of this upcoming wine industry event in Paris in 2022, the Bordeaux Grand Cru Federation will do its utmost to provide the best conditions for the French Sommelier Association, all sommeliers and all candidates and delegations for this competition.
The Bordeaux Grand Cru Federation will offer young sommelier and hospitality students, in particular, additional incentives during the preparatory phase and during the competition, and promote their recognized knowledge of values, passion and constant desire to innovate.
After four days of high-level competition, the ASI World"s Best Sommelier Competition, co-hosted by the Association of Sommeliers International (ASI) and the host country's sommelier association, will award the winner, the title of World's Best Sommelier. The last competition was held in Antwerp in March 2019, while the next one will be hosted by the French Sommelier Association (UDSF).
A total of 66 contestants representing 63 countries participated in the competition in 2019. The judges assessed and judged the contestants on all aspects of their knowledge base and professional skills in wine, spirits and beverages, as well as the advice and service attitude provided to customers.
In order to better promote the event, the preparations leading up to the final were highlighted, including not only the selection of domestic candidates, but also the unveiling of the locations for the competition week, which will be held in a public auditorium and simultaneously broadcast live to the world.
Sommeliers are the ambassadors of wine producers. As the host of the competition, Paris, France will showcase their most outstanding wine producers and sommeliers to the world at the ASI World's Best Sommelier Competition.
