Hoornhoek"s annual Australian Top Wineries Review tasted more than 10,000 wines from 1,600 different wineries, ranked according to the highest rating based on reviews over the past 24 months.
Tanudan is one of only two wineries in the Barossa Valley consistently ranked in the top 20, the other being Hanusco.
This positive review coincides with the 130th anniversary of the founding of Château Tanoutan, which the Geber family has taken over for 20 years.
Hoornhoek writes in his review:Barossa's most famous red wines highlight the rich heritage of the old vines of Barossa, most notably the three grape coagulations of Grenache, Mouvedre and Malbec made in 1858.
Tanutan Winery was recently named Best Australian Vintner at the Berlin Wine Awards.
