The Spanish radio and television station Telediario de la 1 has listed wine as a legal drug in a program, and the Spanish Association of Wine Journalists and Writers (AEPEV), made up of about 200 professionals, is demanding that the false accusations be corrected, as wine is part of the Mediterranean diet. Wine is a culture that has coexisted with different civilizations for thousands of years.

They also point out that wine is an industry that directly generates 6.5 billion euros in revenue each year, 2.7 billion euros of which comes from overseas sales, has some 560,000 winegrowers and creates 428,000 jobs.
