Founded in 2009, the club brings together people from all walks of life who are passionate about wine and food with the goals of increasing outside knowledge of wine, popularizing high quality wine, reviving Georgian winemaking and viticultural traditions, encouraging and supporting innovation, and supporting the development of wine tourism.
Given the current global pandemic of the New Crown virus, this year"s New Wine Festival will be held in a completely different context and in a different format, reflecting a completely new concept. The club believes that this will greatly help the wine industry to survive the new crown crisis that has lasted for months. It will also help Georgian wines to increase their visibility in their home and foreign markets and boost wine sales. Most importantly, the New Wine Festival will also be able to provide wine lovers with quality specialty Georgian wines suitable for New Year and Christmas parties.
The festival will be held in a video format and will be attended by both large wine companies and small wineries. More than 100 wineries will participate in the festival, and each will have 10 minutes to showcase their products in a live video. During the New Year period (December 10 to January 15), the Club has also created bilingual introductory posters in Georgian and English for the participating wineries, presenting their contact information, the wines exhibited and the channels of purchase, in order to expand the public's attention.
With the help of our partner e-commerce companies, the wines presented and sold at the festival can be ordered online directly from the e-commerce platform or purchased directly from the winery.
During the New Wine Festival, wineries will not only showcase new wines from the 2019 vintage, but will also sell other vintages. Throughout December, people will be able to purchase and taste the New Wine Festival wines at all of Georgia's online wine stores. Interested parties can also participate in online events from December 27-29 to exchange questions with winemakers and other technicians, purchase wines, and participate in competitions or other events.
The event will be live-streamed to the geographic location of each winery, giving the wineries the opportunity to visually introduce their wines to the audience from their place of origin.
In addition to all of this, the club will also hold a wine auction before the end of this event. All proceeds from the auction will go to the fight against New Crown Pneumonia.
